Holly Arnold Kinney is the daughter of Samuel P. Arnold, whose papers are in the Denver Public Library archives.
Description
Born in 1963, Sissy Bear started life mistreated on a game farm, nursed to health at the Denver Zoo, then adopted by the owners of The Fort, a restaurant in Morrison, Colorado still as a cub later that year. Written by the daughter of the original owners, the author tells the story of how the highly tame and friendly bear greeted visitors and spent time with the family and regular visitors and employees, like Lakota Chief Big Cloud. Sissy Bear died in 1982.
