Description
The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of predicting quantities of rippable and non-rippable rock on proposed construction projects, using seismic soundings supplemented by test borings and electrical resistivity measurements. Six projects scheduled for construction in different geologic settings were selected for investigation and field work has been completed on all six. To date, only three of the projects have been constructed....

Description
Present methods of measuring asphalt content in asphaltic plant mixes are either time consuming or costly. The differences in dielectric properties of asphalt and aggregates suggest that an in expensive instrument might be developed which could determine asphalt control by measurements of this difference.

Description
Since 1966 an evaluation project has been underway to study asphalt pavement by measuring its dielectric properties. Originally, this project was directed toward asphalt content, however, it was determined that asphalt density had a relationship to dielectric properties.

Description
A cooperative study by the Colorado Division of Highways and the Colorado Division of Game, Fish and Parks concerning deer-vehicle accidents was initiated in 1968. These agencies are in the process of evaluating procedures and devices that may help reduce the number of deer-vehicle accidents, including two types of lighted deer crossing signs.
